Daniel L. Kephart, II

            Daniel L. Kephart, II, 45, formerly of Penfield, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2016 at his residence in Norfolk, VA after a lengthy illness.

            He was born August 11, 1971 in DuBois, son of Daniel Lansberry Kephart and Charlene M. (McCoy) Kephart of Penfield.

           Daniel was a “1989” graduate of DAHS. He retired after serving 20 years in the US Navy and seeing the world. He continued to make his home by the sea and worked for a contractor hired by the Navy in Norfolk, VA.

            In addition to his parents Daniel is also survived by a sister Wendy Newdick of Pittsburgh, a brother Jeremy Kephart of Penfield, two nieces: Minerva and Vanessa, one nephew, Dylan, four aunts: Sue McCoy of Clearfield, Patsy Livelsberger of McSherrystown, PA, Katherine Lucore of Penfield and Betsy Kruckenberg of Clearfield and two uncles Mike McCoy of Glen Richy, PA and Tom Kephart of Florida. He will be sadly missed by all.

             Daniel was preceded in death by an infant brother, Jesse.

             Visitation will be held on Monday, September 12, 2016 from 11am until 1pm at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home in Penfield. Services will follow at 1pm at the funeral home. Military Honors will be accorded by the Valley Legion Post 978 Burial Detail.
