Obituary

Velma E. Forsythe, age 86, of Weedville, died February 23, 2023 at Elk Haven Nursing Home.  A daughter of the late John and Helen (Fox) McClintick, she was born on March 5, 1936 at the family farm in Jay Township, PA.  On August she married James K. Forsythe who predeceased her on December 25, 2017.

Besides her parents and her husband, Velma was preceded in death by: a sister, Vera Kunes; two brothers, Clayton and Kenneth McClintick; and two brothers-in-law, Paul Gray and Rodney VanVoorhis.

Velma is survived by: her son, Todd Forsythe of Weedville; a grandson, Lucas Forsythe of Force; a brother, Glaydon (Susan) McClintick of Weedville; and two sisters, Nadine Gray of Little Washington, PA and Rita VanVoorhis of Weedville, PA.

Velma lived all her life in Bennetts Valley and worked at Stackpole Carbon for ten years.  She was very active with her membership in the Weedville Wesleyan Church.  Other than her spending her time helping with her church, she enjoyed baking, sewing and making chocolate Easter Eggs.

There will be no public visitation.

Private services will be held by the family.
