Theresa Leithner Kriegisch

Theresa Leithner Kriegisch, 97, of Johnsonburg passed away April 15, 2025 at Pinecrest Manor after a short illness. She was born in St. Marys, PA on September 24, 1927, to Michael and Clara (Bissman) Leithner. Theresa graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1945 and worked at GC Murphy in St. Marys until her marriage to Rudolph J. Kriegisch on October 14, 1950. Theresa has lived in Johnsonburg since her marriage.  She worked at GC Murphy in Johnsonburg after her husband’s death in 1967 until joining Warren National Bank as a bookkeeper. Theresa retired from PNC Bank in 1990 after 20 years of service. She volunteered for numerous organizations including Holy Rosary Church, the Red Cross Bloodmobile, and American Cancer Society.  In addition to her husband and parents, Theresa was predeceased by her brother, 6 sisters, and 2 sisters-in-law. Surviving are her son, Michael (Grace) of Clarksville, TN, daughter Patricia (Ram) of Liverpool, NY, 2 step grandchildren, and 4 step great grandchildren. Seventeen nieces and nephews also survive.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Rosary Church at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. The family will receive visitors at the Ubel Funeral home on Monday, April 21, 2025 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, from 11:30 a.m.  – 12:30 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Theresa’s name may be made to the Johnsonburg Public Library or Holy Rosary Church.  Online condolences are welcome at the Ubel Funeral Home website (www.nedzafamilyfuneralhomes.com).
