Robert "Andy" Barnett

Robert A. “Andy” Barnett, age 81, of High Street, Johnsonburg, PA, died Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at the home of his niece, in Ridgway, PA, after a short illness.  A son of the late Preston and Avanell (Gearheart) Barnett, he was born on September 16, 1942 in Portland Mills, PA.  He was married to Peggy (Shelander) who predeceased him on March 15, 2005.

Andy is survived by: two children, Scott Barnett of Pittsburgh and Brian Barnett of Wilcox; two grandchildren, Carli and Preston; two brothers, Reid (Cathy Thomas) Barnett of Ridgway and Stan (Gail) Barnett of Johnsonburg; his best friend and favorite child, his dog, “Stewart”; and numerous close personal friends.

Besides his parents and his wife, Andy was prceded in death by: a son, David “Barney” Barnett; a sister, Ruth Ann Washkow; and a brother, Ray Barnett.

Andy was born and raised in Portland Mills and lived in Johnsonburg since 1988.  He worked most of his life in manufacturing plants of St. Marys and worked with Paper City Transfer for many years after his retirement.   He was a member of the Central Hose Company, the Ridgway Eagles, the Piedmonte Club and enjoyed riding his motorcycle.

Public visitation will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2024 from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. and also on Friday, from 10 – 11 a.m. at the Ubel Funeral Home of Johnsonburg, PA.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 28, 2024 at the Ubel Funeral Home with Reverend Ron Burkett.

Interment will take place next to his wife in the Holy Rosary Cemetery of Johnsonburg.
