Richard "Smitty" Smith

Richard K. “Smitty” Smith, age 54, of High Street, Johnsonburg, died unexpectedly, January 8, 2021 at Penn Highlands-Elk.  A son of the late Keith and Alma (Paton) Smith, he was born on January 11, 1966 in Ridgway, PA.  On July 11, 1987 he married Lori J. (Wolff) who predeceased him on June 15, 2015.

Besides his parents and his wife, Smitty was preceded in death by: a sister, Peggy Smith.

He is survived by: four children, Ashley Smith of St. Marys, Amber (Matt Neubert) Smith of St. Marys, Laura (Mike) Kreckel of Johnsonburg and Andrew Smith of St. Marys; two grandchildren; and four siblings, Vicki (Ray) Monroe of Delaware, Jim (Fran) Smith of Delaware, Shirley (Chuck) DeStephano of Johnsonburg and Cindy (Jerd) Esham of Mt. Jewett.

Smitty lived all his life in Johnsonburg and worked at the Johnsonburg Paper Mill for thirty five years.  He was a member of the Johnsonburg American Legion, the Piedmonte Club and enjoyed his gameroom at his home.

There will be no visitation.

Services will be announced at a later date.
