Richard “Jock” Guaglianone, age 91, of Second Avenue, Johnsonburg, PA, died October 29, 2024 at Nelson Golden Years Nursing Home of DuBois. A son of the late Antonio and Philomena “Mary” (Servidea) Guaglianone, he was born on November 26, 1932 in Johnsonburg. On September 4, 1954 he married Betty (Bauer) who predeceased him on January 28, 2017.
Besides his parents and his wife, Jock was preceded in death by: a brother, Samuel Guaglianone; and two sisters, Rose Camise and Antoinette Marrone.
Jock is survived by: three children, Richard (Karen) Guaglianone of Brockport, James Guaglianone of Johnsonburg and Debra (Michael) Schatz of Kersey; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, George Guaglianone of Johnsonburg; and two sisters, Jenny DePalma of Pittsburgh and Vivian Marrone of Johnsonburg.
Living all his life in Johnsonburg, Jock was a graduate of Johnsonburg Schools, Class of 1953; and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, where he served as an Usher for many years. He worked as an Equipment Operator for PennDot for twenty years, retiring in 1993 and was a School Bus Driver for Johnsonburg Schools for fifteen years. He was, also, an active member of the Johnsonburg Volunteer Fire Company for more than sixty years.
Public visitation will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the Ubel Funeral Home of Johnsonburg, PA.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 11:00 a.m., Saturday, at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Johnsonburg, with Father David Wilson, celebrant.
Interment will take place next to his wife in the Parklawn Memorial Gardens of Ridgway.
