Richard R. Dressler, age 75, of DuBois and Brockway, died unexpectedly, at home, in Brockway on August 14, 2024. A son of the late Oscar “Lemoine” and Rachel (Granater) Dressler, he was born on November 20, 1948 in DuBois, PA. On April 22, 1996, he married Kathryn (Mosley), who survives.
Along with his wife, Rich is survived by: three daughters, Sarah (Brad Yori) Mosley of Sligo, Rachel Dressler of Palmetto, FL, and Laura Dressler of Brockport; and six grandchildren, Noah, Harper, Ira, Lydia, Lana and Lainey.
Rich served in the Army during the Vietnam Era. He served two separated tours and has over twelve years of total service time. He achieved the rank of Sergeant, receiving two bronze Stars and the Purple Heart. He was a member of the VFW and the SOI, both of Brockway, the Horton Sportsmen’s, Sandy Hose Company, Olympic Athletic Club, and the Penfield Firemen’s. He lived most of his life in DuBois.
A (casually attired) Celebration of Life will be held, 2:00 – 6:00 p.m., Saturday, September 7, 2024 at the Bandits Hideaway of Brockport, PA; with the DuBois Area Honor Guard According Military Honors at 3:00 p.m.
Interment will take place in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA.
