Richard E. “Dick” Bonanno, age 66, of Georgino Lane, Penfield, PA, died unexpectedly, at home, Sunday, February 26, 2023. A son of the late Leonard Bonanno and the late Beatrice “Tootie” (Bricen) Emerick, he was born on October 26, 1956 in DuBois, PA. On September 2, 1974 he married Kathleen (Georgino), who survives at home.
Besides his parents, Dick was preceded in death by: a niece, JoAnn Caliari and his father-in-law, Patsy Georgino, Jr.
Along with his wife, Dick is survived by: two children, Laura (Jake) Holt of Gravette, AR and Richard “R.J.” Bonanno of Penfield; three grandchildren, Michelle, Hailey and Enzo; a great-grandchild, Stella JoAnn; a brother, Stephen (Helen) Bonanno of Weedville; his mother-in-law, JoAnn Georgino of Penfield; numerous nieces and nephews; and his dog, Luke.
Dick worked as a Truck Driver for Babcock Lumber and Georgino Industrial Supply, until he started working with Tyler Blasting where he served as a Licensed Blaster; later he continued his truck driving career as an Owner/Operator, retiring in 2014.
Born and raised in Weedville, Dick lived most of his life in Penfield. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, The Penfield Firemen’s Club and the Valley Legion Post 978. He enjoyed watching sports and spending his time with his family.
Public Visitation will be held on Friday, March 3, 2023, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and also on Saturday from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home of Penfield, PA
Mass of Christian Burial will be held, 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 4, 2023 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Force, PA with Father Mark Mastrian.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Penfield Volunteer Fire Company, the Bennetts Valley American Legion or the Bennetts Valley Ambulance and will be accepting online condolences at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home website (www.nedzafamilyfuneralhomes.com).
