Patricia McDivitt Obituary

Patricia (Patty) Ann McDivitt, 78, of Water Street, Johnsonburg, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, August 11, 2025, after a lengthy, courageous battle with a very rare cancer. Patty was born on June 9, 1947, to the late Arthur and Clara (Trombetta) Maletto. She was a strong, determined, loving wife, mother, and grandmother who was the first to step in and help someone in need. Patty graduated in 1965, from Johnsonburg Area High School. On August 9, 1969, she married Robert Joseph "Bob" McDivitt. They were blessed with over 36 years of marriage before Bob passed away on March 17, 2006.

Patty worked at several jobs to include Stackpoles, People’s Drug, Holy Rosary, CNB Bank, and Sensing Technology; however, her favorite "job" was being a mother to her 3 children. Patty also volunteered over the years with several organizations to include Boy Scouts, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, Guardian Angel, Holy Rosary Funeral Committee, and the Johnsonburg Community Center where she was on the recreation board. It was there she and her devoted companion Eric "Ric" Weissenfluh, created the "Wall of Honor" to honor local veterans. Patty considered this her greatest accomplishment. Patty loved spending time with her swimming friends and her cookbook club. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, and entertaining others, as her favorite place to be was in her kitchen. "Mama Patty's" home was always open to others and many referred to her as their second mother. Patty also enjoyed sewing and was often called upon to make alterations for her loved ones.

Patty is survived by her significant other Ric, her 3 children; Tom of Pittsburgh, Laura Lechien (Brian) of Johnsonburg, and Michelle Kiehl (Ryan) of St. Marys, her 4 grandchildren; Lindsey McDivitt, Gunnar, Maverick and Messer Kiehl, her 4 siblings; Jim Maletto (Mary Woodford), Rich Maletto (Connie), Dave Maletto (Joan), and Mary Clare Zuroski, her 2 sister in laws; Ann Anderson and Maureen McDivitt, and several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband, Patty was also predeceased by her grand-daughter Hailey Faith Kiehl.

A mass of Christian Burial for Patty will be held, 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonburg, with Father David Wilson as celebrant. Burial will follow at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery.
