Norah M. (Galera) Buzard

Norah M. Buzard, age 88, of Wilcox, died June 13, 2025 at Elk Haven Nursing Home.  A daughter of the late Angel and Georgina (Acevedo) Galera, she was born on August 9, 1936 in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.

Norah is survived by: two children, Carol (William) Hall of Irmo, SC and Noreen Fitch of Wilcox; five grandchildren, Carson Lebron, William Hall, Libby (Alex Brong) Buzard, Caroline Fitch and Sean Fitch; and three great-grandchildren, Cecilia Lebron, Maxwell Brong and Felix Brong.

Besides her parents, Norah was predeceased by: a son, Larry Buzard; a brother, Pedro Galera; a sister, Laura Galera; and a son-in-law, Timothy Fitch.

Norah worked in the Housekeeping Department of St. Marys Hospital for more than twenty years, retiring in 2002.  She was a member of the Wilcox Sportsmen’s and the Wilcox Senior Center.  She enjoyed flowers, flower gardening and maintaining her yard.  She also enjoyed being a mother and grandmother; and spending time with her companion, Charlie Nearing.

There will be no public visitation and services will be held privately.

Interment will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
