Mary A. (Groeger) Luchs

Mary A. Luchs, age 97, of Bendigo Road, Johnsonburg, PA, died October 30, 2024 at her home, after a short illness.  The last surviving child of Wilhelm J. and Maria M. (Kriegish) Groeger, she was born on November 5, 1926 in Johnsonburg, PA.  On February 15, 1947 she married Verne M. Luchs, who predeceased her on June 20, 1983.

Mary is survived by: her only child, Bonita Luchs of Johnsonburg.

Besides her parents and her husband, Mary was preceded in death by: four brothers, Theodore, William, Fredrick and Charles Groeger; and two sisters, Rosalia Stickle and Matilda Engle.

Mary retired from one of her favorite employments, a Security Guard for Keystone Carbon, where she spent several years.  Living all her life in Johnsonburg, she was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.  She was, also, a Beekeeper and enjoyed gardening.

Private Funeral Services were held at the Fairview Cemetery of Ridgway, where she was buried with her husband.
