Kandis McAninch, age 67, of Wolf Run Road, Johnsonburg, PA, died May 28, 2023, surrounded by her family, at Pinecrest Manor, after a short illness. A daughter of the late Charles “Bill” and Emma Mae (Rhines) McAninch, she was born on July 1, 1955 in Ridgway, PA. On July 23, 2020, after thirty two years of love and companionship, she married Michael Severance, who survives at home.
Along with her husband, Kandis is survived by: a son, Richard “Rick” (Toni jo) Shipe Jr. of Johnsonburg; two daughters, Trisha Shipe of Johnsonburg and Laurie (John) Koshinsky of Wilcox; her grandchildren, Richard “Ricky” Shipe III of Oregon, Philip Shipe of Johnsonburg, Kaitlynn Shipe of Johnsonburg, Kyra Dowell of Johnsonburg, Matthew Koshinsky of Pittsburgh and Ashley Koshinsky of Wilcox; two brothers, Michael (Patty Murphy) McAninch of New Mexico and Scott “Snitch” (Kristina) McAnìnch of Wilcox; a sister, Lynn (Steve Mann) Groeger of Wilcox; and a sister-in-law, Nancy McAninch of Johnsonburg.
Besides her parents, Kandis was predeceased by: a grandson, Johnathan Koshinsky and a brother, William “Snitcher” McAninch.
Kandis graduated from Johnsonburg Area High School in 1973 and worked for Domtar Industries for 30 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Johnsonburg and enjoyed cooking, sewing, shopping and spending time with her family and friends.
There will be no visitation.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
The family suggests memorials to the Johnsonburg Community Center, the First Baptist Church of Johnsonburg or the Wilcox Fire Department and will be accepting online condolences at the Ubel Funeral Home website(www.nedzafamilyfuneralhomes.com).
