Joseph H. Runyan

Joseph H. Runyan, age 68, of Center Street, St. Mary’s, PA, died unexpectedly, Sunday, May 19, 2024 at UPMC Presbyterian.  A son of the late Phyllis (Runyan) Flynn, he was born on March 15, 1956 in Butler, PA.  In May, 1988 he married Carrie (Beck), who predeceased him in August, 2016.

Joe is survived by: four step-children, Rick (Amanda) Smith of St. Mary’s, James (Karen) Winslow of Kersey, Rebecca (Jeramie) Baggett of Cumberland Furnace, TN and Angel (Josh Vallone) Winslow of Brockway; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Jay (Chrissy) Dippold of Kersey; two nephews; and a niece.

Joe served in the US Army and US Army Reserves.  He worked many years at GKN and many years landscaping and mowing, locally.  He enjoyed spending most of his time raising his step-children, and also hunting, fishing, tying flies and making fishing lures.  He lived all his life in Bennetts Valley and Kersey.

There will be no visitation.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
