Joseph F. Levenduski, age 84, of Byrnedale, PA, died February 26, 2022 at McKinley Nursing Home of Brookville, after a short illness. A son of the late Frank and Anna (Gabor) Levenduski, he was born on April 19, 1937 in Byrnedale, PA. On November 22, 1958 he married Doris (Geyer), who survives in Byrnedale.
Along with his wife, Joe is survived by: three children, Evelyn (Fran) Gustafson of Weedville, Joseph M. (Marie) Levenduski of Chesterfield, VA and Barbara Brennen of St. Marys, PA; six grandchildren, Zachary, Abby, Wesley, Joelle, Ross and Dalton; a brother, Edward (Janice) Levenduski of Weedville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Joe was predeceased by: two brothers, Fran and John Levenduski; and two sisters, Paula Posteraro and Dorothy O’Leary.
Living all his life in Byrnedale, Joe was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and served in the US Army from 1955 – ’57. Being a class 3 transportation engineer, he worked as a highway inspector with PennDot until retirement. He also owned and operated The White Horse Tavern from 1981 - 1990, friends and family knew him as “Papa Joe.” His hobbies included wood working, collecting Hot Wheels and Roseville pottery. But his favorite pastimes were watching the Yankees and spending time with his grandchildren.
Public visitation will be held on Friday, March 4, 2022 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home of Penfield, PA.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 5, 2022 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Force, PA with Father Mark Mastrian, celebrant.
Interment will take place in the Church Cemetery.
