Germaine V. Olewnik, age 87, of Force, PA, died unexpectedly, July 28, 2024 at home. A daughter of the late Anthony and Veronica (Lutkavich) Zukauskas, she was born on November 9, 1936 in DuBois, PA. On April 27, 1957, in St. Joseph Catholic Church of DuBois, PA, she married Vincent “Potato” Olewnik, who preceded her in death on November 20, 2013.
Besides her parents and her husband, Germaine was predeceased by: a brother, Joseph Zukauskas; and two sisters, Sylvia Kutskel and Josephine Visneski.
Germaine is survived by: four children, Vincent Olewnik of Force, Dianne Olewnik of Force, Daniel Olewnik of Ridgway and Richard (Stacie) Olewnik of St. Marys; two granddaughters, Mandy (Lance) Burgess and Loren (B. J.) Wendel; and five great-grandchildren, Ace, Duke, Willow, Quinn and Cooper.
Born and raised in DuBois, Germaine was a graduate of DuBois Area High School Class of 1954. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Force after coming to Bennetts Valley in 1957. She enjoyed travelling, reading, crosswords, flower gardening, and spending time with her family and her dog, Sunshine.
Public visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.; and also on Wednesday from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m., at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home of Penfield, PA.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Force, PA, with Father Mark Mastrian as celebrant.
Interment will take place in the Church Cemetery.
