Gerard J. “Jerry” Kronenwetter, Sr., 84, of Wilcox Road, Johnsonburg, PA, died at home, early Saturday, June 16, 2018. A son of the late Vincent J. and Martha A. (Dill) Kronenwetter, he was born on December 25, 1933 in St. Marys, PA. On June 2, 1956, he married Liela (Peterson) who survives in Johnsonburg.
Along with his wife of 62 years, Jerry is survived by: seven children, Gerard J. Kronenwetter, Jr. of Kane, Daniel J. (Sandra) Kronenwetter of Mansfield, MA, Diane M. (Michael) Schepis of Reynoldsville, PA, Laura J. (James) Reinsburrow of Johnsonburg, PA, David H. Kronenwetter of Clearfield, PA, Mary E. (Roger) Oertly of Mount Jewett, PA and Patrick A. Kronenwetter of Johnsonburg, PA; sixteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Vincent Kronenwetter of Wilcox, PA; a brother-in-law, Louis Facchine of St. Marys; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by: a sister, Ann Facchine; a daughter-in-law, Debbie A. Kronenwetter and a sister-in-law, Barbara Kronenwetter.
Jerry had been a supervisor at Keystone Carbon where had worked for forty four years, retiring in 1997.
He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the Wilcox Senior Center. He enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing. Jerry was born and raised in St. Marys and has been a resident of the Spruce Dale area of Johnsonburg since 1960.
There will be no public visitation.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 25, 2018, at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Johnsonburg, PA with Father David Wilson, celebrant. Burial will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery of Rasselas.
The family suggests memorials to the Wilcox Fire/Ambulance or the Wilcox Senior Center and will be accepting online condolences at www.nedzafamilyfuneralhomes.com.
