Gary Rio

Gary Rio, age 69, of DuBois, passed away , Sunday, December 11, 2022 at UPMC Presbyterian of Pittsburgh.  The son of the late Rocco “Dutch” and Julianna “Jay” (Kematick) Rio, he was born March 27, 1953 in DuBois, PA.  On April 28, 1973 he married Bonnie (Visneski), the Love of his life, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Force.  She survives in DuBois.

Gary was a graduate of Jeff Tech of Reynoldsville.  He retired from St. Marys Press Metals of Ridgway.  He also worked many years at Keystone Powdered Metals of St. Marys.

Gary lived most of his life in Weedville, PA. He enjoyed BUYING CARS, watching NASCAR, hunting and sitting on his porch.

In addition to his wife, Gary is survived by: two children, Chrissy Rio of DuBois and Brad (Kayla) Rio of Melissa, TX; two grandchildren, Jordan and Jace Rio; two siblings, Bonnie (Tom) Ferraro of Columbus, OH and Lori (Tom) Gasbarre of Treasure Lake; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Gary was predeceased by: a son-in-law, Jon Dahrouge.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2022 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., and also on Friday, from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home of Penfield, PA.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held, 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 16, 2022 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Force, PA with Father Mark Mastrian.

Interment will take place in the Church Cemetery.
