Francis E. Nichols, age 71, of Maple Street, Johnsonburg, PA, died Friday, February 5, 2021 at Penn Highlands-Brookville, after a lengthy illness. A son of the late Francis E. Nichols, Sr. and Lillian Katherine (Pierce) Nichols, he was born on July 20, 1949 in DuBois, PA. In 1970 he married Bonnie D. (Jarrett), who survives at home.

Along with his wife, Fran is survived by: six children, Sean Maddox of Wichita, KS, Francis A. “Fred” (Courtney) Nichols of Butler, PA, Raymond P. (Jessica) Nichols of North Carolina, Catherine (Yovany) Nichols-Aguirre of North Carolina, David (Katie) Nichols of Johnsonburg, PA, and Peggy J. Nichols of North Carolina; fifteen grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers, John (Pam) Nichols of Brockway, Raymond (Chris) Nichols of Brockway, and Charles Nichols of Kersey; two sisters, Shirley (Bob) Chamberlain of St. Marys and Dianne (Wayne) Tubbs of Clearfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Fran retired from the Johnsonburg Municipal Authority after working there for many years. He enjoyed working on lawnmowers, hunting and visiting family and friends. He was raised in Brockway, lived several years in New York and the past forty years in Johnsonburg.

There will be no visitation.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
