Duane Liptak, Sr.

Duane Liptak, Sr., age 74, of Weedville, PA, died December 10, 2023 at Mercy Medical Center of Canton, OH, after a short illness.  A son of Matilda (Merley) Liptak of Byrnedale and the late Fredric Liptak, he was born on February 19, 1949 in DuBois, PA.  On April 29, 1972 he married Roseann (Carpin), who predeceased him on July 22, 2022.

Along with his mother, Duane is survived by: two children, Duane Liptak, Jr. of Dripping Springs, TX and Deana Feidler of North Canton, OH; six grandsons, Casimir, Dominic, Maximus, Elijah, Noah, and Jacob; and a brother, David (Charlene) Liptak of Weedville.

Duane served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era receiving the rank of Sergeant in The Old Guard.  He worked many years as Facilities Manager for several State Facilities and as a Maintenance Foreman at Speer Carbon for many years.  He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Force and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He lived all his life in Bennetts Valley.

Public Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2023 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. and also on Friday from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m., at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home of Penfield, PA.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held, 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 15, 2023 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Force, PA with Father Mark Mastrian.

Military Honors will be accorded by the Bennetts Valley American Legion Post 978 Honor Guard.

Interment will take place in the church cemetery.
