Dorothy (Parziale) Moorhouse

Dorothy Moorhouse, age 98, of DuBois, died October 18, 2023 at Christ the King Manor.  A daughter of the late Carmen and Elizabeth (Lundy) Parziale, she was born on April 29, 1925 in Weedville, PA.  On November 30, 1943 she married Richard B. Moorhouse, Sr., who predeceased her on March 1, 2007.

Dorothy is survived by: three children, Maureen Coughlin of Terre Haute, IN, Richard W. (Ann) Moorhouse of Lebanon, TN and Gene Moorhouse of Sacramento, CA;  six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a brother, Senes (Mickey) Parziale of Weedville; and a sister, Minnie Louise “Dolly” (Rick) Crocco of Weedville.

Besides her parents and her husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by: a son, Stephen Moorhouse; a son-in-law, Naylor “Champ” Coughlin; three brothers, Ralph, Carmen and Gerald Parziale; and five sisters, Virginia Gallagher, Emma Caseman, Rose Wendel, Theresa Schneider and Florence Novosat.

Dorothy is catholic by faith, attended Weedville Schools and worked as a beautician for many years.  She has lived in DuBois since 1970 and had enjoyed spending her winters in Okeechobee, FL.

Public visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home of Penfield.

Funeral Services will be held, 11:00 a.m., Tuesday at the funeral home with Father Matias Quimno.

Interment will be in the Morningside Cemetery, next to her husband.
