Donald "Abe" Kentoski

Donald J. “Abe” Kentoski, age 88, of Bennetts Valley Highway, Penfield, PA, died December 25, 2024 at Penn Highlands-DuBois, after a lengthy illness.  A son of the late Stanley and Rachel (Seduski) Kentoski, he was born on September 2, 1936 in Tyler, PA.  On February 20, 1960 he married Evelyn (Lovenduski) who survives at home.

Along with his wife, Abe is survived by: two children, Donald (Rebecca) Kentoski of Penfield and Joseph Kentoski of Penfield; eight grandchildren, Danielle Kentoski, Michael Kentoski, Timothy Kentoski, Ashley Stager, Christa Anderson, Cara Dixon, Brandon Rieber and Connor Rieber; eight great-grandchildren, Grayson Kentoski, Mira and Callum Kentoski, Leyla and Kyrin Stager, Emerson and Cayson Anderson, and Giavanna Dixon.

Besides his parents, Abe was predeceased by: a daughter, Laurie Rieber; a brother, Stanley Kentoski; and two sisters, Geraldine Carlson and Irene Moorhouse.

Abe lived all his life in Bennetts Valley and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.  He served as a Sergeant in the US Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis and played the accordion with “The Counts” in his youth.  He worked many years with Stackpole Carbon as a Machinist and several years with Huston Township Municipal Authority. 

Public visitation will be held, Tuesday, December 31, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home of Penfield, PA.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held, 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Force, PA, with Father Mark Mastrian.

Interment will take place in the Church Cemetery.

Military Honors will be accorded by the Bennetts Valley American Legion Post 978 Honor Guard.
