Dolores Clara (Chiappelli) Floravit

Dolores Clara Floravit, age 96, of Weedville, died December 22, 2024 at Elk Haven Nursing Home of St. Mary’s.  A daughter of the late Louis and Jennie (Riccadonna) Chiappelli, she was born on September 6, 1928 in Weedville, PA.  On January 26, 1946 she married Michael T. Floravit, who preceded her in death on May 26, 1992.

Dolores is survived by: four children, Bonnie (Jim) Casolo, Brenda (Nick) Chieffo, Susan (Bobby) Meholic and Michael (Nancy) Floravit; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald (Nancy) Chiappelli; and two sisters, Irene Muccio and Janice Kinsler.

Besides her parents and her husband, Dolores was predeceased by: a brother, Louis “Manny” Chiappelli, Jr.; two sisters, Elda (Glenn “Cubby”) Benigni and Rose “Babe” (Donald) Klaiber; and her brothers-in-law, Anthony “Chike” Muccio and Tim Kinsler.

Dolores lived all her life in Bennetts Valley and was one of the original organizers of the Bennetts Valley Labor Day Committee.  She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Bennetts Valley Senior Center.  She enjoyed Polka dancing with her husband, playing BINGO, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

There will be no public visitation.

Public Mass of Christian Burial will be held, 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 27, 2024, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Force, PA with Father Mark Mastrian.

Interment will take place in the St. Joseph Church Cemetery.
