David R. "Unz" Pirazzi

David “Unz” Pirazzi, age 73 of Byrnedale, PA passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 after a lengthy illness.  He was born on June 12, 1949, the son of the late Violet Pirazzi and the late Norman Gerber.

On September 4, 1970 Dave was united in marriage to Nadine (Dick) at St. Joseph Church in Force, PA by Father Varga.  They have been married for 52 years.

Dave was drafted to the US Army in 1969, He spent his service time working at the Pentagon, having secured his Security Clearance.  He became a Staff Car Driver for Top Ranking officials.

Dave graduated Bennetts Valley High School class of 1968.  At age 51 he attended Penn State-DuBois for a degree in Wildlife Management.  He was employed with the DCNR and retired from Parker Dam due to his COPD diagnosis.

In addition to his wife, Dave is survived by: his two children, Maria (Robert) Leonard of DuBois and David (Tami) Pirazzi II of Las Vegas, NV; a sister-in-law, Charlotte Pirazzi and brother-in-law, Billy Dick; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved pet, Royce.

In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by: his brother, Norman “Ikey” Pirazzi; his mother-in-law, Patty Dick; two sisters-in-law, Marianne Dick and Nancy Dick-Sennett.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2023 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. and also on Monday, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home of Penfield.

Funeral Services will be held, 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 27, 2023 at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home with Father Matias Quimno.

Military Honors will be accorded by the Bennetts Valley Legion Post 978 Honor Guard.
