Daniel P. Cherry, age 72, of Louisiana Lane, Johnsonburg, PA, died January 19, 2025, at home after a short illness. A son of the late Richard “Dick” and Pearl (Bean) Cherry, he was born on July 6, 1952 in Kane, PA.
Dan is survived by: four children, Daniel (Julie) Cherry, Jr., Richard (Jenna Zimmerman) Cherry, Max Cherry and Maggie Cherry, all of Johnsonburg; six grandchildren, Christian (Julia) Cherry, Marlee, Aria, Haylee, Gracie and Aubrey Cherry; one great-grandchild, Miles Cherry; two sisters, Karen (Jake) Fedus of Johnsonburg and Lori (Bob) Challingsworth of St. Marys; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dan lived most of his life in Johnsonburg and was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School, Class of 1970. He was owner/operator of Cavalier Bar for several years and worked in the family business, “Cavalier Roofing” all his life. He enjoyed playing basketball and softball for many years; he enjoyed boating and his time with his St. Marys Buddies; he was classic car enthusiast and a steadfast “Road Hunter”; and he could be known as “A Dog’s Best Friend”.
There will be no public visitation.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
