Clyde “Jim” Ross, age 84, of Penfield and formerly of Brookville and DuBois, died September 5, 2024 at Penn Highlands-Brookville after a short illness. A son of the late Clyde O. and Genevieve (Mineweaser) Ross, he was born on July 5, 1940 in Brookville, PA.
Jim is survived by: a daughter, Amanda (Shawn) Allshouse of Penfield; four grandchildren, Cailyn (Jake) DeShong, Richelle Allshouse, Shawnee Allshouse and Adrienne Allshouse; two step-grandchildren, Erica and Mason Bish; great-grandchildren, Asher and Kol DeShong; two brothers, Earl (Bertha) Ross of Brookville and Ray (Lucy) Ross of Brookville; and a sister, Mary Phillips of Ohio.
Besides his parents, Jim was predeceased by: a sister, Lillian and her husband, Ron Kahle; a brother-in-law, Rocky Phillips; and an infant sister, Theresa.
Jim served as a Police Officer on Brookville for many years. He also served as Knox Township Supervisor and retired from Brookville Wood Products in 2000. He was a member of the Brookville Eagles and Firemen’s Club. He enjoyed playing cards and horseshoes, but mostly he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He lived most of his life in Brookville, several years in DuBois and the past seven years in Penfield.
There will be no public visitation.
A Celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
