Carol J. Black, age 87, or Powers Avenue, Johnsonburg, PA, died December 1, 2024 at Guy and Mary Felt Manor of Emporium, after a short illness. She was born on November 26, 1937 in Johnsonburg, PA, a daughter of the late Carl and Helen (Steudler) Rimer. On April 26, 1974 she married R. Wayne Black, who predeceased her on December 2, 2010.
Besides her parents and her husband, Carol was preceded in death by: a brother-in-law, Robert Myers.
Carol is survived by: three brothers, John (Marge) Rimer of Bellefonte, David (Marcia) Rimer of Bradford and Allan (Sylvia) Rimer of Johnsonburg; a sister, Ruth Myers of Hollidaysburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Carol lived all her life in Johnsonburg and was a 1956 Graduate of Johnsonburg Schools. She worked twenty seven years for the Johnsonburg Bank and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was a volunteer for the Red Cross Blood Mobile and taught Sunday School for many years.
Public visitation will be held, 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at the Ubel Funeral Home of Johnsonburg.
Funeral Services will be held, 1:00 p.m., at the funeral home with Reverend Dan Reigel.
Interment will take place, next to her husband in the Wardvale Methodist Cemetery of Johnsonburg.
