Paul E. Hauttekier, Sr.

Paul E. Houttekier, Sr., age 72, of East Center Street, Johnsonburg, died unexpectedly, at home, April 1, 2022.  A son of the late Camile and Juanita (Sallows) Houttekier, he was born in Blissfield, MI on August, 18, 1949 and was raised by Camile and the late Ruth Houttekier in Berkey, OH.

Paul is survived by: two children, Paul Houttekier, Jr. and Ruth Quinn, both of South Carolina; three grandchildren, Thomas, Skylar and Luke; three brothers, Randy (Tammy) Houttekier, Sr., of Johnsonburg, Richard Sallows of Johnsonburg and Charles Houttekier, Sr. of Ohio; two sisters, Joyce Goins of St. Marys and Sally Frey of Kentucky; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his father, mother and step-mother, Paul was predeceased by: two brothers, Ray Sallows and Roger Houttekier; and a brother-in-law, Duvan Goins.

Raised in Berkey, OH, Paul also lived fifteen years in Toledo, OH and has been a Johnsonburg resident since 1984.  He was a construction Painter and general maintenance man. He was known to be very friendly and enjoyed making people laugh.  He enjoyed watching the Green bay Packers and the Chicago Cubs.

Public visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Ubel Funeral Home of Johnsonburg.

Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home following the visitation at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Dan Reigel.
