Judith A. “Judie” Shrubb, age 74, of Shrubb Lane, Weedville, PA, died surrounded by her close family members on Monday, April 5, 2021 at Penn Highlands-DuBois, after a short illness. A daughter of the late Jerry and Dorothy (Buerk) Reed, she was born on March 20, 1947 in St. Marys, PA. On October 24, 1964 she married Donald W. Shrubb, who survives in Weedville.
Along with her husband, Judie is survived by: four children, Donald M. (Kristy) Shrubb of St. Marys, Denise (John) Deutsch of Weedville, Jerry (Evelyn) Shrubb of St. Marys and Amanda (Manuel Sigaran) Shrubb of Silver Spring, MD; six grandchildren, Curtis Shrubb, Mike Deutsch, Chelsie Deutsch, Adam Deutsch, Skylar Foust, and Jocelyn Shrubb; three great-grandchildren; four brothers, Bruce (Peggy) Reed of Washington, Don (Kim) Reed of Emporium, Glenn “Bobbie” (Alice) Reed of Florida, Dave (Lori) Reed of Emporium; four sisters, Betty (Buster) Erich of Emporium, Helen Dunkle of St. Marys, Lois (Dan) Dolan of South Carolina Donna (Terry) Granier of Louisiana; and sister-in-law, Margaret Smith of Dubois.
Besides her parents, Judie was preceded in death by: a grandson, Matthew Deutsch, a brother, Jerry Reed and three sisters, Dolores Kitchen, Marie Young and Patty Reed in infancy.
Judie worked as a Nurse’s Aide for St. Marys hospital for many years, as a Bus Contractor for St. Marys Schools for eighteen years, as well as cooking and waitressing and raising her children. She enjoyed spending time with family, especially her children and grandchildren. She loved playing cards, board games, going to the casino, binge-watching her favorite shows and playing Candy Crush. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She always put others first and would give you the shirt off her back. She could strike up a conversation with any stranger. She will be greatly missed by a great number of people. God gained the most beautiful Angel.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 10, 2021 at the Weedville Wesleyan Church of Weedville, PA.
Funeral Services will immediately follow the visitation at the church, with Pastor Louis O'Vell.
Interment will take place in the Gardner Hill Cemetery, Weedville, PA.
