John L. Franzoni, age 85, of Apple Street, Weedville, PA, died unexpectedly, at home, Wednesday, January 6, 2021. A son of the late Rico Franzoni, Sr. and Frances (DePaoli) Franzoni, he was born on April 14, 1935 in Washington, D.C.
John is survived by: a brother, Rico Franzoni, Jr. of Weedville; two nieces, Rhonda Glass and Renee Bogle; four great-nieces and great-nephews; two great-great-nieces; and his companion, Alta Smith.
John has lived in Bennetts Valley since 1944, graduating from Huston Township High School in 1953. He served in the US Army and worked as a Shipping Clerk for Stackpole Carbon for thirty two years. He was a member of the Penfield Firemen’s Club, the Bennetts Valley Sportsmen’s Club and the Weedville American Legion where he served many years on the Military Funeral Honor Guard. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting sports and playing cards.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no public visitation.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 8, 2021 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Force, PA with Father Mark Mastrian.
Interment will take place in the Church Cemetery.
Military Honors will be accorded by the American Legion Post 978 Military Funeral Honor Guard.
