James “Sam” Berasi, 90, of Weedville, PA, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at Penn Highlands Healthcare in DuBois. He was born on January 16, 1932, in Cardiff, PA, the son of the late Louis & Adolerta (Bellini) Berasi.
Sam retired from GTE Sylvania in St. Marys, PA with more than 40 years of service. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Force the Bennetts Valley Senior Center, Bennetts Valley Rod and Gun Club and the Bennetts Branch Watershed Association. He enjoyed collecting baseball cards, watching the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers, spending time with his family, especially with his nieces and nephews. His greatest joy was spending time with his great-great nephews Louie and Franco Krulia.
He is survived by a sister Lena Krulia of Weedville, a brother Guido “Guy” Berasi of Meadville and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Bruno, Constance, John and George Berasi; and his longtime companion Anna McClain.
Public Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022, from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home of Penfield.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 11 a.m., Saturday, at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Force, PA, with Fr. Mark Mastrian as celebrant.
Interment will take place in the Church Cemetery.
