Elizabeth DiNardo

Elizabeth Ann DiNardo, age 65, Johnsonburg, died at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital in Pittsburgh on April 1, 2024.

The daughter of the late Carmen and Ann (Eichmiller) DiNardo, she was born on May31, 1958 in St. Marys, PA.  Elizabeth is survived by her four sisters:  Catherine DiNardo of Pittsburgh, Joanne (Jim) Colesar of Clearfield, Margaret DiNardo of Lancaster, and Rose Grumbling of Lititz; Two Aunts:  Consiglia (DiNardo) Wheeler of Kersey and Dorothy (Eichmiller) Anderson of Erie; Nephew: Nicholas (Catie) Colesar; Nieces: Julie (Chris) Osborn and Suzanne (Logan) Yerger; Great-Nephews:  Michael Colesar and Alexander Colesar and Great-Nieces: Rachel Colesar and Jolene Yerger.

Elizabeth was a 1977 graduate of Elk County Christian High School and a graduate of the Erie Beauty Academy.  She owned her own hair salon in Johnsonburg for a number of years before working for twenty two years in the dietary department at Elk Haven Nursing Home in St. Marys.  Liz was a lifelong member of Holy Rosary parish, a former Girl Scout leader, a member of the Elk County Christian Alumni Association, Women Who Care, Queen of the World Rosary Altar Society, St. Marys Moose, Elk County Humane Society as well as part of the Fundraising Committee for the Humane Society. She always put her family and friends above herself. She never missed a birthday or holiday without sending cards and presents. She was an artistic and crafty person who would make treasures to give away. She also used her talent as a cook and baker to host many meals for family and friends. 

There will be visitation from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2024 at the Ubel Funeral Home of Johnsonburg, PA.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held, 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 6, 2024 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Johnsonburg, with Father David Wilson, celebrant.

Interment will take place in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, next to her parents.

The family suggests memorials to the Elk County Catholic School System or the Elk County Humane Society and will be accepting online condolences at the Ubel Funeral Home website (www.nedzafamilyfuneralhomes.com).
