Catherine C. (Adams) Fritz

Catherine C. Fritz, age 95, of Johnsonburg, died Monday, September 13, 2021 at Elk Haven Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.  A daughter of the late Frank and Rose (Stewart) Adams, she was born on October 23, 1925 in NuMine, PA.  In 1946 she married Jack Garvey who predeceased her in 1971.  In 1974 she married Bernard “Bud” Fritz who also predeceased her.

Besides her parents and two husbands, Catherine was preceded in death by: a son, David Garvey; two great-granddaughters, Ronnie Smith and Chelsi Mann; and three brothers, Thomas, John, and LeRoy Adams.

Catherine is survived by: three children, Sandra Ross of Johnsonburg, Deborah Ciroli of Indiana, PA and Rick Garvey of St. Marys, PA; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; seventeen great-great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Marion Garvey of Johnsonburg.

Catherine retired from Keystone Carbon after working there for many years.  She was a member of Johnsonburg United Methodist Church and the Johnsonburg Senior Center.  She enjoyed being active in her church when she could and volunteering for many local charities.  She lived thirty five years in NuMine and was a resident of Johnsonburg since 1960.

There will be no public visitation.

The family will be receiving friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., on Monday, September 20, 2021, at the Johnsonburg United Methodist Church.

Funeral Services will be held, 11:00 a.m., Monday at the church, with Pastor Matt Williams.

Interment will take place in the Wardvale Methodist Cemetery of Johnsonburg.
