Carrie "Mabel" Brent

Carrie “Mabel” Brent, 89, of Johnsonburg and recently of Sena Kean Manor, passed away, Tuesday, June 7, 2022, in Olean, NY. She was born August 1, 1932, in Russellton, PA. She is a daughter of the late Henry & Rebecca (Vanatta) Brent.

After graduating Valedictorian from Coudersport High School class of 1950, Carrie moved to Johnsonburg. She worked for Stackpole for many years having started in Johnsonburg and then transferring to St. Marys as a cost accountant before retiring from Carbone.

She was a past treasurer for American Baptist Women’s Ministries, enjoyed volunteering at local food banks and blood drives and was a member of the Elk County Historical Society.  She was very active in First Baptist Church activities, including choir, Anna B. Class, Vacation Bible School, Children’s Sermon, and had served as Treasurer.

Carrie is survived by a sister Dolores DiIulio of Johnsonburg, two brothers, Carter and Paul Brent both of Smyrna, TN and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by four brothers, Leo, Henry jr., Delmas and James Brent.

Public Visitation will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Ubel Funeral Home of Johnsonburg. Services will follow at 4:00 pm at the funeral home with Robert Johnson officiating. Burial will take place in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
