Austin M. “Gramps” Rhodes, age 67, of Merrill St., Clearfield, PA, died unexpectedly, at home, July 30, 2021. A son of the late Nolan J. and Shigeko (Kudo) Rhodes, he was born on December 18, 1953 in Tokyo, Japan.
Besides his parents, Gramps was predeceased by: a sister, Linda Martinez.
Gramps is survived by: his longtime partner, Melody Luxmore of Clearfield; four children, Dusty (Patrick) Gerg of Bigler, Windy (Richard) Lopez of Clearfield; Rocky (Jennifer) Rhodes of DuBois, and John (Sara) Rhodes of DuBois; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; his ex-wife, Gerry Rhodes of Clearfield; a brother-in-law, Jose’ Martinez of Washington; three nieces; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Gramps served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era and lived most of his life in Washington and Pennsylvania. He loved animals, especially his dogs and his many fish, but mostly he enjoyed time with his grandchildren.
There will be no visitation.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
