Rose Marie (Habicht) Maletto, 77, of Buchanan Street, Wilcox, PA, died Thursday, June 21, 2018.  She had succumbed to a short illness, surrounded by her family at Penn Highlands-Elk.  The last surviving child of the late Fred and Mary Theresa (Marchese) Habicht, she was born on November 17, 1940 in Johnsonburg.

On June 1, 1998, Rose lost her husband, Frederick F. Maletto, Sr., whom she married in the St. Anne Catholic Church on June 13, 1959.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Frederick Habicht.

Rose is survived by her: children, Mary Britton of Ozark, AR, Christine (Christopher) Cummings of Wilcox, Frederick (Bonnie) Maletto, Jr., of Wilcox and Theresa (Douglas) Mitchell of Ridgway; grandchildren, Eric and Amy Britton, Benjamin and Jessica (Anthony Wilson) Cummings, Hope (Dale) Piccirillo, Frederick III and Nicole (Jim Watson) Maletto, and Joshua and John Mitchell; Great-Grandchildren, Benjamin, Alley, Parker, Andrew, Angelica, Dallan, Lannah and Adam.

A member of the Wilcox Fire Department, St. Anne’s Church, St. Anne’s Parish Council, the Holy Rosary Altar Society and the Wilcox Recreation Board, Rose was well known for her holiday decorating interests.  She was an original founding member and head of the Wilcox Holiday Lighting Committee and has decorated St. Anne’s Church for the holidays for many years.  She had also been a member of the Wilcox Municipal Authority for several years and a member of the WADC.

Rose lived all her life in the Johnsonburg/Wilcox area.

There will be no visitation.

The family will be receiving friends from 9 – 10 a.m., Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the St. Anne Catholic Church in Wilcox.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the church with Father David Wilson, celebrant.

Burial will take place in the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery of Johnsonburg, next to her husband.

The family suggests memorials to the Wilcox Fire Department or the Wilcox Lighting Committee and will be accepting online condolences at www.nedzafamilyfuneralhomes.com.

The Ubel Funeral Home of Johnsonburg has been entrusted with final arrangements.
