Marguerite Frances (Winkler) Cortina, 95, of Force, PA, died July 5, 2018 at Penn Highlands-DuBois.
The last surviving child of the late Frank and Stella (Gusheroski) Winkler, she was born on May 8, 1923 in Force, PA.
On November 10, 1945, she married Robert John Cortina who predeceased her on September 1, 2016.
Marguerite was active with the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Force, being a member of the Rosary Altar Society, Funeral Committee, and Choir for 60 years, cleaning the church for 17 years and was a member of the Blue Army.
In her younger years, she worked for Sylvania in St. Mary’s for about 6 years before becoming a homemaker to her husband and two sons. She had been a caretaker for many different family members through the years. She has lived in Force all her life.
Marguerite is survived by two sons, Robert Cortina of Rockton and Daniel Cortina of Force, ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one sister, Mary Canton and five brothers, Norman, Ralph, Carl, John and Frank Winkler, Jr.
No public visitation will be held. Family and Friends are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated on Saturday, July 7, 2018, at 10am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Force with Fr. Mark Mastrian as Celebrant. Burial will follow in the church cemetery beside her husband.
