Kenneth E. O’Vell, 71, of Weedville, died December 10, 2018 at UPMC Presbyterian after a short illness. A son of the late Ernest M. and Erma (Crissinger) O’Vell, he was born in St. Marys on September 16, 1947. On January 1, 1983 he married Rita Fenice, who survives in Weedville.
Along with his wife, Ken is survived by: a brother Lewis (Leah) O’Vell of Weedville, many nieces and nephews and his beloved dogs, Buckley and Clover.
Ken graduated high school at Eastern Pilgrim Academy of Allentown and received his Bachelor’s Degree from McPherson College in Kansas. He retired from the PA Department of Labor and Industry where he worked as Chief of Recruitment. He was a member of the Ford Hunter Board of Directors in Harrisburg, the Mt. Zion Historical Society, Mt. Zion Cemetery Committee, attended St. Joseph Catholic Church with his wife and enjoyed Revolutionary War reenacting.
Born and raised in Weedville, he lived most of his life in Lancaster and Harrisburg and returned to the Valley after his retirement in 2007.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 17, 2018 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Force, PA with Father Mark Mastrian. The family will be welcoming friends at the church from 9:15 – 10:00 a.m.
Interment will take place in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
