Evelyn "Jean" (Waltz) Germer

Evelyn “Jean” Germer, age 69, Benezette, PA, formerly of Mount Joy, PA, died, at home, Thursday, December 30, 2016. Born in Lancaster County on February 19, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Samuel D. Waltz and the late Evelyn Ruth Coble Waltz.
 

She graduated from Donegal High School, Mount Joy, in 1965. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Mount Joy and was attending the Weedville Wesleyan Church, locally.
 

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, John A. Germer and three children, Douglas and his companion, Kathy Witgenstein; Stacey Judge and her companion, Rick Darrenkamp; Chad and his wife, Andrea; five grand-daughters, two grand-sons, two great-grand-son and two great-grand-daughters.
 

She also is survived by two brothers, Richard Waltz, of Mount Joy and Larry Waltz of Columbia. Her brother, Robert Waltz passed in 2015 and her step-brother, Ed Zimmerman passed in 2016.
 

She enjoyed her flower gardens, walking in the woods, and most of all, her family. She enjoyed making memories with all her kids, grand-kids and great-grand-kids.
 

Before moving to Elk County in 2007 she was employed by the Cardtique Hallmark Store and before that she had a daycare for 18 years in her home. She was employed at the Elk Country Visitor Center in Benezette until 2016.
 

There will be no visitation.

A memorial of Jean’s life will be held, 11:00 a.m., May 6, 2017 at the Weedville Wesleyan Church with Pastor Bryon Kleppinger.
